Spinning My Tires is one man's view of the world of cars. Random thoughts, ideas and comments pop up here, all of them related to owning, driving and restoring cars. I've been doing this car thing as long as I can remember, and have enjoyed a great many car-related experiences, some of which I hope to share with you here. And I always have an opinion one way or another. Enjoy. E-mails are welcomed--if you have thoughts of your own to share, please send them. Additional Spinning My Tires editorials can be found on the Archives page. 6/17/06 (Editor's Note: Hang in there a few more weeks, guys. Once this first house is done and my new business--www.century-partners.com--is up and running smoothly, I'll scale back from 7 days a week, 10 hours a day and get back to a regular schedule. And that means the Buick gets back on the front burner. Please stick around!) A Milestone On June 5, 2006, this website passed 100,000 readers. Wow! To a lot of websites, 100K doesn't amount to much, but to me, just a regular guy putting his life on the Internet, well, that's a pretty big deal. 100,000 visitors amounts to about 60 a day on average, which continues to surprise me because I haven't done much new lately. I do want to say thanks to every one of you visitors for keeping me motivated, even when I just don't have time to do the work. Your E-mails and messages keep me thinking about Buicks (and old cars in general) all the time. That's all the hobby time I have lately, and it's appreciated. I know that I don't have 100,000 individual readers, but I do know that I have a lot of regulars keeping an eye out for something to happen. Among those readers are people I've helped and who have helped me, forging a kind of community of enthusiasts. Many of you come to me with questions, and I do my best to answer them or at least point you in the right direction for answers. It's also kind of cool to see where my readers come from. The rotisserie plans are all over the place and I get about 3 messages a week about that. Some of my "Spinning My Tires" editorials show up on other sites, either quoted in their entirety or simply linked. I long ago gave up being unhappy about people borrowing my work and now find it flattering that other folks think I'm saying something they can use. The Yahoo and Google searches for a lot of things turn up my site--you'd be surprised by how many folks E-mail me looking for Harwood fiberglass parts for their Camaros. So keep an eye on the counter and tell your friends. I hope to start giving you all something to read very soon and I still want to have a rolling chassis by summer's end. I'll show you all that very soon. Thanks for keeping me in your normal rotation of Internet sites, and I hope to meet you all in person some day. Happy motoring! See you next month!
